What to wear in the gate - the secrets of the goalie wear
Quality goalkeepers are (not only) in floorball irreplaceable. It is said that a good goalkeeper is 50% success of the whole team and we have many times convinced that it is so.
It's a lot of things to get a 100% player to perform. But one of the most important is the floorball goalie. This is very different from the player. The player in the field solves the floorball stick, the shoe and maximum of some accessories, the goalies are more complicated. There is much more to the equipment, though not everybody needs all. In this article, however, we will present the things we think you should ensure if you are going to "sit" in the goal and face the opponents' shocks.
Helmet (mask)
Floorball helmet for goalie or floorball goalie mask is a very important part of the equipment. You do not even let go of the competition without it, and we recommend you do not even go to the training without a mask. However, the missiles fly at a speed of about 200 km/h. This is enough for a good monocle. The rules do not prescribe any exact shape of the helmet so it's up to you, but think of the helmet being strong enough and light, but you'll spend a few minutes in it, and your neck will thank you for every saved gram at the end of the match. You have to choose from a senior or junior size, this great variability is not.

Vest
Another essential piece of floorball equipment. The vest protects the goalkeeper's torso in particular. There are several types, some protect the whole body, only the chest. It depends on the goalkeeper's preferences what he chooses. It is not necessary to solve some parameters too much on the wind itself. Virtually all of them are made of synthetic textile materials, reinforced with special foam lining. The only thing you need to be careful about is size. It is true that you have to choose a goalie vest the same size as the classic clothes you wear. So if you wear a M size T-shirt, a vest of this size should also sit.

Knee protectors
Quality knee protectors are invaluable for the goalkeeper. Do not underestimate their choice. It does not seem like it, but on your knees you will spend the most of your time at the floorball. Therefore, let them care about choosing them. Purchase exclusively floorball pads that are designed directly for floorball and you will not be injured even in specific movements. More than anywhere else, the more expensive the model, the higher the quality. We really do not advise you on knee protectors. Make sure you choose the right size. Large protectors will not hold you in place, and the little ones will squeeze you unpleasantly. You have to try what you are sitting on and then hold on to it.
Elbow protectors
Another type of protectors is the one on the elbow. Some goalkeepers do not use them, but we (especially) the younger goalie are recommended to wear. Yet hurt the elbow is not fun at all. Gloves who wear them consistently claim to give them more confidence in jumps and frequent acrobatic procedures. Throw the ball with lace protectors and without them is the difference. Try again ☺.
Jersey
The jersey is just some "cherry on cake" for the goalkeeper. It's more aesthetic than a practical matter. Choose especially what you like. Some goalkeepers believe that the more striking the colors, the better. Psychology spell works. We will not rebuke it to anyone. Of course you will pay slightly for the quality. But you can be sure that more expensive models are better winding, easier and more comfortable to wear. Even in cheaper models, however, there is no disaster, they serve very well. Again, the rule is that you choose a goalie jersey of the size you wear in civilian clothing.

Pants
Floorball goalie pants have several important features. First of all, they should as much as possible dampen the bumps, even the hockey, but they must also allow the goalie to move quickly into the goalie. It basically fulfills the role of hockey goalie concrete. This is what we need to do. The high-quality goalie pants meet both conditions, and you will not be surprised during the match. They are made from teflon-based materials supplemented with Lycra so that the trousers, especially the hips, are sufficiently elastic. The more expensive models will last longer, and will not survive in exposed areas, such as the knees or the buttocks. They are also cheaper to serve well, but do not expect to last longer than a season, two.

Gloves
Again, a piece of kit that some goalkeepers despise. However, if you want to protect your palms and fingers from the stinging ball, you don't have many other options. Some people tend to stick insulation on their fingers and palm, but gloves are more reliable. They are padded and reinforced, so they absorb shocks well. However, expect a slight loss of feeling and the fact that the ball will be harder to catch afterwards. But we claim that it's just a matter of habit. If you start catching with gloves, you will get used to them and you won't be able to enter the goal without them.
Jockstrap
You may say that the ball is easy, but to get into delicate parts with a ball flying around 200 km/h we really do not want anyone. It hurts to believe us. Therefore, if you have any good quality trousers, wear a jockstrap. Thank you very much.
Goalie Shoes
The times when the goalie wore plain skates or sneakers are irretrievably gone. If you are catching for a long time you probably know that the stamina of such shoes was not dizzy. If you are a newcomer, ask more experienced colleagues. You will be advised by a special goalie floorball shoe that is tailored to a specific goal-based attitude and is reinforced where it is most challenging. For example, you do not have to concentrate on how you have a leg so that you can quickly make a goalkeeper's intervention. It's just one hundredth of a second, but sometimes he decides whether or not a goal will fall.
